Malcolm Ball Associates is a technical consultancy able to assist, support and advise on a broad range of areas in the textile and clothing related areas either directly or in partnership with other specialists in their fields.
 
Principal Associate, Malcolm Ball, is a Fellow and Chartered member of both the Textile Institute and the Society of Dyers and Colourists and has a long international career in sewing thread research and development, as well as practical management of operations at board level.  This experience provides a wealth of knowledge which can be put at the disposal of any company involved in the 'fibre to garment' manufacture and processing - or the sale, purchase or processing of sewn products. 
 
Examples of areas of activity include design, planning and commissioning of production plants and process/testing laboratories; the design and commissioning of research projects with universities; the commercialisation and management of innovative products; analysis and correction of product quality issues;  advice and professional opinion on technology or product based legal areas;  technical articles or manuals for training and education.
 
Over the last few years, a lot of experience has been gained in the development and application of web-based supply chain-chain management systems for colour development and order tracking - with technology leaders eWarna (www.ewarna.com) and eFashionTrack (www.efashiontrack.com).  We are are very pleased to be able to offer assistance in these areas - with these or other technology partners.
 
 
Company History:
Founded in 2001 by Malcolm Ball after a long technical and managerial career with the Tootal Group and then Dollfus Mieg & Cie.
The corporate period provided a wealth of experience and responsibilities from which a deep well of practical and detailed knowledge was accumulated.  This experience included working closely with companies, institutions and individuals across the Americas, North & South Africa, Eastern and Soutern Asia and North and mainland Europe.
 
Other activities:
Malcolm Ball Associates is a proud member of the ASBCI - forum for textiles and clothing (www.asbci.co.uk) and currently holds the chairmanship of the Technical Committee.
 
Assistance was also provided in the creation of the latest technical publication 'Colour Clues - an introduction to the colouration of textiles and clothing'.  Work on an introduction to laboratory tesing is in progress
